[Collaborative Project] Into The Light
A downloadable IntoTheLight for Windows and macOS
Into The Light is a Walking Simulator project that is currently in development, with a few bugs / graphical issues present in this version (See Development Log).
Into The Light takes place in an abandoned Victorian Village, where unknown forces have destroyed most of the village, leaving it inhabitable. You, the player, awake in the village without your sight and it's up to you to recover your sight to gain the full picture of the village around you. Assisting you on the journey is a series of pulses that highlight elements of the world and allow you to navigate through the village whilst your sight is depleted.
Into The Light was developed using a small group of Games Design and 3D Animation and Games students from Middlesex University London
My role in this game was to develop the environment itself, creating a white box version of the environment that would then serve as a template for the 3D Animation and Games students stated below to implement textures on top of those assets. In addition to this, I was also responsible for programming the game manager, allowing the game to switch between scenes when the player begins and ends the experience.

Into the Light was developed and tested on systems with the following configurations for user reference*:
Windows
- Ryzen 2700X
- 32GB RAM
- RTX 2060
MacOS**
- M1 Pro (10C CPU + 16C GPU)
- 32GB RAM
*Performance will vary based on system configuration.
**MacOS build currently does not contain an Apple Silicon specific build, however systems with Apple Silicon chips will run the Intel version via Rosetta.

Any Mac (2017 and Higher Recommended) Supporting the Following Hardware;
- 4 Core Intel CPU or Apple Silicon Chips
- 8GB RAM, 16GB Preferred
- AMD Dedicated GPU Recommended or Apple Silicon 8 Core GPU or Higher
- 1GB Storage
***Game may run on hardware with lower supported configurations, however performance may not be sustained as per internal testing. These hardware configurations are what I would recommend based on internal testing of frame rate and performance stability.

Install instructions
To play 'Into The Light Demo';
Windows
- Download and extract the .ZIP file from this page onto a safe location on your PC
- Double click on the "Into The Light V2.0 Release.exe" application
- Enjoy!
WARNING:
Do not delete anything inside the folder where the game .exe file is located. Doing so will cause the game to crash instantly upon launch.
MacOS
- Download and extract the .ZIP file
- Double Click the executable within the extracted folder
